The love motivation factor was conceptualized on the basis of the triangular theory of love Sternberg, including items referring to intimate, passionate, and committed aspects of romantic love. Confirmatory factor analysis CFA was then performed in Mplus 7. Although a total number of respondents were recruited for the study, a high number of participants had to be excluded from the sample, because they either never used Tinder or they did not use it over the past 1 year. Tinder and its clones have stalled dating app innovation. Personality variables did not significantly predict problematic Tinder use.
